Protect your bike from thieves at free events

Residents will have the chance to keep their bikes safe from thieves at a series of free bike marking events across the Malvern Hills District.

Organised by Malvern Hills District Council, bike marking is a method that consists of applying a unique identifiable number to the frame of the bike, which is then registered with the National Bike Register Database.

This reduces the risk of a bike being stolen and if stolen, it makes it easier to report and find it again.

The events will be held on the following dates:

Monday, 21 February, 2022

1pm - 3.30pm: Tenbury Swimming Pool

Tuesday, 22 February, 2022

9:30am – 12pm: Kempsey Plovers Rise Playing Fields

1.30pm – 4pm: Hallow Village Hall.

Wednesday, 23 February, 2022

1pm - 4pm: Malvern Hills District Council House

Cllr Tom Wells, Portfolio Holder for Community Services at Malvern Hills District Council, said: "It is so important that we take measures to protect bikes from thieves, these free bike marking events will give residents peace of mind if their property is ever stolen or lost. Property marking is like giving your belongings a unique fingerprint which will help identify them, and there is a greater chance of being reunited."
