A series of improvements are being made to Malvern's Priory Park over the coming months to provide an even better experience for visitors.
Work got underway this week on repairing and redecorating the shelters by the pond. They will be out of use for about four weeks.
Early in June surfacing works will be carried out to paths around the park along with other decoration and repairs. During the summer the park railings will also get a fresh coat of paint and new welcome boards will be installed.
From mid-July work is planned on the upper pond to repair the leak which is preventing the water in the pond rising to a high enough level to feed the waterfall into the lower pond. The pond will be drained and desilted and when completed the flow of the waterfall will help to improve water quality.
Then later on in the year it is planned work will get underway on replacing the play area. A design is being finalised and more details will be shared when known.
Four recycling bins have already been installed around the park to help residents reduce their waste and wildflowers including cowslips and wild daffodils have been planted to improve biodiversity. This is part of the Natural Networks Programme run by Worcestershire County Council and Worcestershire Wildlife Trust.

We know how valued Priory Park is by our residents and these improvements will make it an even better place to spend time and enjoy being outdoors.
"We're also looking forward to sharing our plans with people for the play area and to work getting started later this year."
